What kind of Ultrasound equipment do you use to perform the 4D Ultrasounds?
We use the state of the art and top of the line technology GE Voluson 730 to perform our Ultrasounds. This machine is the best 2D, 3D and 4D Ultrasound machine available. Only the GE Voluson 730 generates 3D images with amazing clarity and gives you the same clarity with 4D imagery of your baby in motion. Our ultrasound equipment allows you to see your baby in live motion video.
Is the 4D Ultrasound covered by Insurance?
At this point, insurance does not cover the costs of our Ultrasounds. Since this is an elective procedure and is not intended to be a replacement for your doctor ordered Ultrasound, you will need to pay the cost of this Ultrasound as an out of pocket expense. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and debit cards. Expecting mothers must currently be under physician's care.
Are you able to tell the sex of the baby?
In the majority of cases we can provide an indication of the sex of the baby during the very first session, as early as 15 weeks. We can’t however guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. Certain factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage, umbilical cord location, fetal position and amniotic fluid all affect the ability to determine sex and clarity of photographs and videos. Each Ultrasound is unique; this is a fun experience. Early Gender Determination is NEVER 100%.
What if we can't get good photographs of the baby?
We offer a free rescan if we aren't able to get a photograph of the babies face. We will make every effort to obtain a number of quality pictures during your appointment. Again, be sure to drink a lot of fluids several days prior to your appointment.
Can I bring my family and friends?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage our clients to invite family and friends to attend the elective 4D Ultrasound session. This is a joyous and wonderful experience, one that can be shared with your family and loved ones. We can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people in our comfortable atmosphere.
How far along should I be before I have a 4D Ultrasound?
If you plan on having only one 4D Ultrasound, we would recommend having it performed between the 26th and 34th week of the pregnancy. However, good images of your baby may be obtained anytime after about 15 weeks of pregnancy due to the fact the baby has less weight, however you may see the baby tiny as it may weigh less than a pound. Many mothers obtain more than one 4D Ultrasound and have images to enjoy and compare from their second and third trimesters. Most mom’s want to see how their baby grows, reason why they come several times during the pregnancy.
How long does the 4D Ultrasound take?
Depending on the package you choose, the 4D Ultrasound session will last between 10 to 25 minutes. Adding the photographs and video to DVD or USB may take up to an additional 15 to 30 minutes depending on the package you have selected.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for all Ultrasound visits. If you are coming to browse our baby clothing then no appointment is necessary. If you require a specific time or day, it would be best to book ahead otherwise. You can call us the same day to see what we may have available.
Is it safe? Are there any risks to me, or my baby?
Extensive studies over 30 years have found that Ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now normal throughout the United States. In 3D/4D scanning exactly the same type and intensity of Ultrasound is used as with conventional 2D scanning. 3D and 4D Ultrasound both utilize sound waves to look inside the body. 4D Ultrasound will be similar to a conventional scan in terms of exposure.
Take notice, most elective ultrasound studios advertise and sell precious heartbeat animals. Recording your baby's heartbeat requires adding an unnecessary element to the session. Our Certified Sonographers highly recommend that this sweet sound be heard and recorded during your doctors visit.
Does this take the place of an Ultrasound at my doctor’s office?
No, Women seeking an elective prenatal Ultrasound must already be receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care and have their due date, its preferred that they have already undergone an ultrasound by their doctor to look for any abnormalities or other pregnancy related issues. Please note, at no time is this exam to be used in place of a complete diagnostic Ultrasound.
